Finding Home – Getting Centered and Grounded:
Hello everyone and thank you for being here!
Over the past three years, I’ve been on a personal journey to find “home”—both figuratively and literally.
As many of you know, back in June of 2022, John and I sold our home of 14 years and set off on an adventure to figure out where we’d like to plant new roots. After four moves in three years, I’m happy to share that we finally purchased a home—a space to lay the foundation for a new chapter.
But while these moves were about houses, this quest has been so much more than just finding the right walls and roof. It’s been about finding home within myself.
The truth is, we can live in the most beautiful place in the world and still feel untethered if we’re not at home in our own heart. And that’s what has inspired this month’s edition.
The need to find “home,” to feel centered and grounded, is something we all experience throughout our lives. Whether you’re navigating a life transition, questioning your purpose, or simply feeling adrift, the longing is the same: to feel safe, rooted, and connected—to ourselves and the world around us.
💬 A Personal Reflection
There was a moment last year when I stood in yet another empty home, surrounded by boxes, and wondered if I’d ever feel settled again. Part of me felt tired of moving and starting over. Another part felt oddly free, like I was being invited to redefine what “home” truly means.
I realized then that “home” isn’t just a place—it’s a feeling. It’s presence. It’s knowing that wherever I go, I carry my true foundation inside me. And it’s trusting that my worth and my safety don’t depend on external circumstances.
Of course, I’m grateful for our new house and the joy of finally nesting again (that feels pretty amazing). But the bigger gift has been learning how to return to myself, even in the midst of uncertainty.
🌬 A Centering Practice
A Simple Way to Come Home to Yourself
If you’re feeling scattered or disconnected, try this gentle practice:
- Close your eyes or soften your gaze.
- Place one hand on your chest, the other on your belly.
- Take three slow breaths, feeling the rise and fall beneath your palms.
- Silently say to yourself: “I am safe. I am here. I am home.”
Stay for as long as feels good. Let the breath remind you that you belong here—in your body, in this moment.
🌀 Gentle Reflection:
Prompts to Help You Define Your Inner Home
• What does “home” feel like for you beyond physical walls?
• When was the last time you truly felt grounded and safe?
• What small rituals or spaces help you return to yourself?
• How might you create more moments of “home” in your daily life?
These are thoughtful questions. Let them unfold slowly, like pages of a book you’re not in a hurry to finish.
💚 What has been Helping me Find Home
Lately, I’ve been finding “home” in:
✨ Cultivating my environment to support what I love.
✨ Meditating each day with a focus of gratitude and the intention to be a conduit of good.
✨ Exploring our new location with fresh eyes!
✨ Having friends and family visit our new place and fill it with new and loving energy!
As much as I would like to report that I have finally figured everything out – I have not. I believe this is simply a stepping stone and my journey to learn and grow is ongoing. Perhaps that’s what life is all about, an evolving adventure and an ever-unfolding story.
💞 A Final Thought
Wherever you are on your journey, I hope you know this:
Home is not just where you live. It’s how you feel inside your own skin. It’s the soft landing place you create for yourself, again and again.
May you find moments this month to come back to that place—to breathe, to soften, and to remember that you are already enough.
With love,
Adriana
